Japanese events in London: 29th June - 5th July 2009

We need to start telling you about Disco Geisha - a club night, or rather day-time club, that our younger students would certainly enjoying going to. The event is the first Sunday of every month, for more information please check with the Notting Hill Arts Club in London. The event runs from Sunday 4pm until 1am in the morning. For more information join the Facebook group. Tomoki Tamura, a Japanese DJ, provides the music - for his myspace page please follow this link.

For pub quiz enthusiasts - the 2nd July, at the Prince of Wales pub, (from 7.00pm upstairs in the function room) is a must. The Japan Society Pub Quiz are hosting the fourth Japan Society Pub Quiz, so now is your opporunity to show everyone just how clever you are or simply come and have fun with like-minded people. If you have never participated in a pub quiz, the is the prefect event. There is a one pound competition fee with the winner taking all the proceeds. Obviously, the more teams and more participants, the bigger the bounty! Teams should have approximately six members and will need to include at least one Japanese speaker. Just to make things more interesting and keep everyone on their toes, some questions will be in English and some in Japanese. Questions are not at all necessarily Japan-related and anyone can take part.

If you would like to take part, gather together a team, name it and register your team with the Japan Society on tel: 020 7828 6330 or email: events at japansociety.org.uk.
