Japanese Events in London: 1st - 7th June 2009

This week we have picked up on two Japanese events in London. This month's event will see members of the Japan Society demonstrating their origami skills.

Kodo returns to London on the 6th and 7th June at the Royal Festival Hall in London. This show includes dancers, vocal and drum compositions, amazing costumes, huge drums (called taiko) and Kodo's legendary precision and power. This group come from Sado Island (佐渡市), with a performance never seen in London.

Kodo is the name for a group of Japanese drummers that perform on a worldwide scale but remain rooted in the local community of Sado Island, Japan. Our interest as a language school is to teach Japanese language and culture so this is an event that we would highly recommend to attend for an insight into Japanese culture.

Learning Japanese is always made easier when combined with the culture. Events like the drummers from Sado really help understand and explore Japan.

If you have attended this event we would love to hear from you.
